Application cases of food grade glycerin
Human Food: Food grade glycerin is used as humectant, sweetener, softener, emulsifier, debitter, vehicle, food industry solvent, lubricant for food processing and packaging machinery.
(1) Baked desserts
Food-grade glycerin is used as a water-retaining moisturizer in bread, cakes, etc. It has strong hygroscopicity, maintains a soft texture, and prolongs the shelf life.
(2) Gum-based candies
All kinds of elastic confectionary foods are basically composed of sugar (or sugar alcohol), syrup, gum base, glycerin, essence, coloring and so on. Food grade glycerin is used as candy softener, emulsifier, etc.
(3) Beverages such as fruit juice and fruit vinegar
Fruits contain tannins, which are the source of bitterness and astringency in fruits. Food-grade glycerin can quickly decompose the bitter and astringent odor in fruit juice and fruit vinegar, enhance the taste and fragrance of the juice itself, brighten the appearance, and taste sweet and sour.
(4) Fruit wine, liquor, wine and other alcoholic beverages
Food-grade glycerin is used in wine as a taste improver, sweetener, and bitterness remover. Adding it in an appropriate amount can increase the aroma, sweetness, and richness of the wine.
(5) Preserved fruit, fruit cake
During the processing and production of preserved fruit, the product is prone to dehydration and hardening due to storage problems. Food-grade glycerin can quickly inhibit heterosexual tannin hyperplasia in preserved fruit, improve the palatability of preserved fruit, enhance the aroma of preserved fruit, increase the sweetness and moistness of the appearance of preserved fruit, and prolong the shelf life.
Adding food-grade glycerin to the cooked fruit cake can have better effects in terms of palatability, color, moisturizing, and anti-oxidation.
(6) Dried meat, sausage, bacon
During processing, dilute food-grade glycerin with pure grain wine above 50 degrees, and evenly spray it on the meat or in the cut meat. Fully knead or stir, lock water, moisturize, achieve weight gain effect, extend shelf life to improve product taste, color and fragrance.
(7) Noodle products

(8) Other applications
Used as a solvent, hygroscopic agent and vehicle in the food industry. In flavoring and coloring foods, food-grade glycerin helps shape the food due to its viscosity.
In the rapid freezing of food, food-grade glycerin can be used as a heat transfer medium in direct contact with food.
Food grade glycerin is also a lubricant for food processing and packaging machinery.
It is used as a carrier in some food flavors.

Pet food: Humectants, sweeteners, binders, anti-caking agents and stabilizers for food processing, etc.
Food-grade glycerin for pets is used in the production of pet jerky, candy, pet chews, tooth chews, etc. The amount of glycerin in pet food is 2% to 10%, and the amount is determined by the formulator.
